Hi, I am in the cork area, and thinking about buying. Have been keeping an eye on properties on various sites and have emailed one or two to ask for more info, however I havent received any replies, Is this a common thing? I thought estate agents would be dying to talk to buyers! Thanks
Its not good when they don't revert. As against that, there are a fierce load of tyre kickers out there also so they may well take the view that if you are at all keen that you'll call to arrange a viewing - so maybe thats the way to go.
Do try and have at least some form of finance organised. I've seen a lot of done deals collapse when it becomes painfully obvious that the proposed purchaser hasn't even the remotest chance of financing a deal which is just heartache and messing for the vendors and the EA's.
From my experience a lot of EAs, specially the smaller ones, are not that skilled with the property websites. So they may not check their email acccounts coming from it that often. So it's always best to phone, they are not used to doing business by email. Also agree it's best to have gotten official mortgage approval before you go and look, otherwise you don't really know how much you have to spend.
