Hi,
I am buying a 2-bed apartment through the affordable housing scheme with Fingal county council. The Government Budget is to be announced in a few weeks and it is expected that there may be measures in it to help with the housing market, maybe also first time buyers.
I've chosen a property already, and paid the €1500 deposit, but should I try to hold on (delay final sale) until I hear the budget? I realise that any answers to this question are purely speculative, but I'm interested to hear people's opinions and intuition about this.
My expectation is that there will not be any extra relief for first-time buyers that would directly help me. It's more likely that the affordable housing scheme could be expanded instead.
