Anybody see the tudors last night on tv3

Thought Maria Doyle Kennedy was fantastic as Catherine.

Great role for her as this is being showed in the states at the moment also. Always loved her music especially the Black Velvet Band.

Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII takes a bit of getting used to

Tune in next week for more bodice ripping action

Apropos of this thread:

AAM awards?

maybe we could do a costume drama based on day to day life on Askaboutmoney.com? Suggestions? ;)

I thought it was very poor. It was more a 16th century soap opera than a period drama.
The only good thing is it might dispell the myth of Henry VIII being an over weight old man because of the Holbein portrait.

def more of a soap opera...disappointing..

and henry did get fat in his old age - esp as his thigh became more painful and he couldn't get about easily - and he loved his grub- apparently towards the end of his life, he wanted to 'dispose' of Katherine Parr too, but as she was the only person who could change the dressing on his leg without making the pain worse, she was allowed to live.. he had his eye on wife no 7 at that stage...

guess katherine Parr was v lucky Henry died first!
