I'm just looking to do something a bit different over the Easter weekend and I'm just wondering has anyone been to visit the National Stud and is it worth a visit.
 
yes its good went there about 18 months ago and enjoyed it (although I am horse mad). Alot of walking to be done so it is always better on a dry day. Lots of foals etc. when I was there

There is also Japanese Gardens there which are worth a look even if you have no interest in plants etc.
 
Foals should be out around now i think
If you go you should definitely eat there too
its a lovely setting looking out at the garden you can sit inside or out and the food is really good -Salads are fantastic -went for brunch last weekend to try it out and loved it
Menu has paninnis with salads , cottage pies etc for about 10 euro
Deserts too were tasty
I met a good few people just there for the food
 
great place you can also get nice food there , or better still if a nice day bring a pinic you can eat out and watch the horses really nice
