The Meaning of 'Under Offer'

Hi, I'm in the process of trying to purchase a house and on one particular website it says that certain properties are "under offer". What does this mean? I basically want to know if I can contact the estate agent and ask for a viewing. Is it too late to do this once the property is "under offer"? Any advice would be appreciated....

Re: The Meaning of Under Offer

AFAIK, being "under offer" means that someone has already put an offer on the property, but it doesn't mean it has been accepted. You can still arrange a viewing with the EA, because until the sale is agreed they won't stop other potential buyers from viewing (that's how bidding wars start) Hope this helps.

Thanks very much Cat176...I'll get in contact with the estate agent now that I know the details
