The investment Funds Industry in Ireland

I read recently that the Investment Funds Industry in Ireland is growing rapidly and jobs are being created around the country e.g. in Limerick some months ago. I was just wondering what general qualifications would one need to work in the funds industry e.g. accountancy qualifications? Are there any essential qualifications? If accounting is a must- what Accountancy exams would you need? I work in Marketing within the Financial Services industry and I find a lot of marketing jobs are limited in terms of opportunities to progress. The Funds Industry seems to have a lot of potential/challenges and pays well. Any help would be most appreciated.

Northern Trust are creating 300 jobs in Limerick if that's the company you're thinking of

Some places ask for a degree (in any discipline). Others will settle for a leaving cert. As you have financial services experience you should have no trouble finding a position. Accounting qualifications you can work for on the job but even these are not essential.

Thanks for the feedback guys, will talk to some people involved in the industry and get some further answers.
