I am just back from holiday, Madeira which is a small dot in the Atlantic, and not a particularly cheap place. How is it I can buy a bottle of Jamesons whiskey there for €14, and I live 30 miles from the distilery and it cost €28 for the same bottle.
I am not of course concerned with the whiskey but using this as a typical example of price difference. That is why we need such high wages in this country.
