just registered on the tesco website last night and registered my clubcard number and it says it can deliver to my address from arklow, funny thing is i live about 25 mile from arklow and in a small village. Do they really deliver to country villages or is this a mistake.

I use Tesco online from time to time and I live about 20 miles from Waterford city, my shopping comes from Waterford - no problem.
They use refridgerated vans with a freezer compartment - everything normally arrives safe and sound. Don't think that the online registration would have let you input the info if they couldn't deliver to you. Just be caeful when ordering veg - the weights are usually in kilos - and you can end up with a lot more than you bargained for!!

I think Tesco delivers to a lot more places than people realise. The registration can sometimes show a mesaage saying they can't find your address - because it doesn't recognise it and many people give up at that stage . If you use their map to locate your house it can be better. They say they cover all of County Dublin , County Meath , County Louth, County Wicklow and County Kildare as well as 20 miles around Galway, Carlow, Limerick, Ennis, Cork and Waterford.
