Temporary lay off - terms of re-employment

I have recently been layed off temporarily. As far as I understand this can be indefinite if I do not claim redundancy with the RP9 form (I do not wish to at present). If my employer re-employs me is there a minimum amount of work they must provide or could they just offer me a day or so here and there? Do I return to 'temporary lay off' if the work runs out again?

There's no limit to the number of times that your employer can put you on temporary lay off, although it is supposed to be temporary. If you've been laid off for more than 4 weeks and he can't offer you 13 weeks employment, then you can claim for the redundancy. But as you say, you're not looking for redundancy.
