Hi

The site upon which I am about to build is in a field which is currently accessed by a dirt track. A shower followed by a couple of lorries up and down it and we'll be able to recreate the lansdscpe from the battle of the somme!!

What would I use to lay a temporary surface until the build is complete (at which point I will set about doing a proper tarmac job.)

4 inch down ... costs about 8 euro a ton .... Not sure how much your gonna need tho ....

Sorry to crash the thread, would you have any pics of the down. We have small grey/blue stones down around our drive (builder had them for the same reason above) and we were looking for the same to sort of some drainage trenches.

Thanks

4 ins broken stone is the best thing to start your drive with, it gives a good foundation to build your drive on, a bit rough to drive on first but as it bury's it will get smoother, later you can put 2" or crusher dust on top,
