Telephone points in house not connected

We renovated a house about 6 months ago and got lots of telephone/computer points put in. However, when we went to get a connection with Eircom recently the guy said that the points were not connected exetrnally so he couldn't connect us up. What do we need to do?
 
We had the same problem with a new development - we contacted the site foreman who tried blaming everyone but themselves - incl. tiler & Eircom. Stood our ground and they eventually agreed it was their mistake so they came back, removed skirting and made a small hole in tiles to connect wires. Then Eircom came back to finish the connection.

Get onto whoever put in the telephone points and get them to connect them up - Eircom will NOT do this!

The builder and electrician were hard work (as usual) when we were doing the renovation so if I could sort it out quickly with another electrician it would be easier from stress point of view! Just trying to guage how big a job this might be but from what you say it doesn't sound as if if its a big job.
 
are they all defo not connected back to a point near the front of the house or maybe even to the attic???
 
Def. not a big job but I would recommend getting the original contractor back because he might remember where he left the wires!
