taxi second job

Hi,
I have a query regards driving a taxi as a second job. If you are working in a full time job and paying the higher rate of tax, is it worth your while driving a taxi at the weekend if you have to declare all earnings?
In other words, will you have to pay tax at the higher rate on earnings on the secong job. Seems to be a few people doing it at the moment.

Yeah probably and its getting harder and harder to earn money as a taxi so might not be worth your while.

I agree with Bob my brother drives a taxi and its getting really difficult to make money especially at the weekends there also appears to be some safety problems in Dublin
