Taxi Drivers concerned that Regulator Ger Deering is to resign!

Taken from todays Irish Examiner:

'Taxi unions have expressed concern about the news that the regulator for their industry is leaving to take up a new state job.

Ger Deering has been appointed as the new director of the National Employment Rights Agency and is set to take up the position in the coming weeks.'

Is this the same Ger Deering they were slating in the press a few months ago.
Maybe now they realise that they are all better off with the new pay structure he implimented

I agree, I have yet to hear a Taxi Driver say a good thing about the Regulator. Perhaps The Irish Examiner got the mood of the Taxi Drivers wrong??

Whatever about the €233K the regulator wasted on the [broken link removed] taxi information sticker system.

While I have no common cause with the taxi lobby I can understand their disapointment and annoyance when the person with whom they have been negotiating decides to leave the field.
