hi, myself and girlfriend are on approx 40k a year each.

Just wondering is there a significant tax saving to be gained if we were married.

Not suggesting i would get married for these reasons!

You can extimate the possible differences using [broken link removed]. Enter your individual details separately first and then jointly as a married couple. As far as I know married couples on joint/aggregated or separate married assessment only gain if both are working and one is on 20% and the other on 41%. However it may still be a good idea to opt for joint/aggregated or separate married assessment rather than assessment as two single individuals in case circumstances change - see here for example.
