I am a full time PAYE worker -circa 90,000 salary I did a few very small nixers during the year getting paid around €2500 for same how do I go about paying tax on same and claiming any expenses as due, I don't wish to go to the expense of getting an accountant but would like to be house in order - what is the procedure??

Fill the extra income in on your tax return as Schedule D income and include your expenses as well. You may have to pay preliminary tax in October on the 2500. You also have to pay PRSI on that money. Have a read of the tax return instructions and, if you are not comfortable that you are addressing all the requirements yourself, best talk to an accountant.

Search www.revenue.ie

Tax Returns

Note: PAYE customers should use Form 12 rather than Form 11

I assume you are talking about 2007. Go to revenue.ie and download Form12. 2007

If your nixers were in 2008 wait until after 31/12/08 and you have a P60 for 2008 and then fill up the Form 12 for 2008
