Tax Return

I submitted my tax return for 2003 around this time last year and have not yet got a balancing statement from Revenue one year plus later! When I rang some months ago they said they were checking out if there were allowances available to me in respect of a redundancy payment! Is this time period unusual?
I'm sure I will owe them money as I have Income Rental in addition to employment PAYE/PRSI which has been paid. Question -should I have estimated the tax payable and actually paid it together with the submission of Form 12 or wait until the Balancing Statement issues??

You should have paid over your estimation.

Call them again and keep calling them - I was waiting a year or so for an assessment on a guy that was claiming
top slicing relief.

Your 2004 tax return should be submitted before 31 October 2005.
