Does all dental work qualify for Tax relief or is it specific to particular dental work. If so, does it cover brace fitting in a child??

No, yes and yes you can get relief for braces on a child - you must get a Med 2 form from your dentist every tax year. This is effectively a tax receipt that will allow you to claim tax relief thereon.

Relief is at marginal rate. So if you pay at 42% you get it back at 42%.
