My husband and I are both PAYE workers and we employ a full time childminder to look after our kids when we are in work. We pay employer's PRSI for her and deduct all PAYE taxes etc. Are we entitled to any tax relief towards the costs of employing her? I can't get a straight answer from revenue about this as PAYE workers are rarely employers.
Employing a home worker is only tax deductible where it is a carer for an incapacitated person. Employing a regular childminder does not come with in the scope of any relief that I am aware of, sorry.
