Tax refund on investment property

Myself and my wife have just bought a townhouse.What taxes can we write off against the the property and what is the procedure to go about doing this

Your question seems a bit vague. You cannot write taxes off against property per se.

If you buy certain types of property in designated schemes (e.g. S23) then you can write off part of the purchase price of the property against your rental income from the property or other rental income in Ireland. It is claimed on your tax return.
