tax rebate

my wife and i sold a retail business nearly four years ago . my wife went back to work as a paye worker nearly three years ago.i have not been employed since. we paid up all relevent taxes at the time we sold our business.a friend told me we could now claime a tax rebate. can anyone tell me is this correct

tax rebate for what ? you'll need to post up more details - from what you've posted - no rebate!

If you filed all tax returns up to cessation of your business, then these would have included claims to all allowances, reliefs, exemptions etc due to you. Unless you made errors or omissions in these returns, its unlikely that you are entitled to anything further at this point. Have you any reason for suspecting otherwise?
