Hi
We have a company pension scheme with a leading Irish provider but unfortunately dire performance.
I want make AVCs to another provider. I think the law changed recently to allow AVC's outside a company scheme.
I am a top rate taxpayer. My question is:
Do the AVC's qualify for both PAYE and PRSI relief?

Thanks

Is [broken link removed] (see section 6) of any use to you? Note that where pension/PRSA contributions are made on a standalone (i.e. no through payroll) basis then tax and PRSI relief must be claimed manually.

Don't forget that past performance is no guide to future returns so that there is no guarantee that you can do better that your existing provider (unless their charges are exorbitant). On the other hand, there's no harm in diversifying your pension savings among different providers all other things beign equal.

The amount of tax relief available is based on a percentage of the persons annual earnings and his/her age
