Hi AskAboutMoney,
I intend to buy Russian assets through US stockbroker (Schwab):
What is the Irish tax?
ETFs
ERUS
RSX
RBL
or the underlying stock through ADRs
through a US stockbroker. Schwab.
I expect it to be similar to buying US stock which I believe is:
dividends:15% US withholding tax and Irish income tax (less withholding)
capital gains: just over 30% if over 1270 per year.
Russian government has a tax on dividends for example not sure where that gets accounted for.
I might just call revenue.
Thank you for your time,
Turloch
'1099 form' ETF is pretty standard apparently I do not know what that involves.
