tax on item bought on the internet from other country?

I wonder if anyone could help me. I am thinking of buying something via ebay from Israel. I have asked what the tax is and how much it is but they have come back and said that when the item arrives in Ireland fedex contact me to pay the tax. Only problem is I have no idea of the % tax that will be payable. Would anyone know?

Most likely at least VAT at 21%. You may have to pay other customs charges and courier handling fees.

It will be 21% and an admin fee.
