Tax Liability on Rental Income when abroad on Company visit

Hi, If someone goes abroad on company visit, the company pays for their accommodation abroad. In the meanwhile, can you rent out your own house and just pay the income tax to Irish Revenue arising on that income or do you also have to pay Benefit in Kind tax as well because the employer has paid for your accommodation when you are abroad?

Any clarifications on this?

Money company pays for overseas accom is tax free as they are just paying expenses incurred. No BIK applies

Rental income would be taxable as normal, as you said.

How long would a company visit have to be so that a renter could be found, a lease signed, etc., etc. Sounds like a secondment to me. And the Revenue Commissioners allow for 30 days paid expenses. After that it is BIK.
