Tax implications of merging a C corp into an LLC

We have a US C Corp that was merged into an LLC through a statutory merger. Do we need to file a form 966 with the IRS which is the form to dissolve or liquidate corporations? I say no because the C corp was not dissolved or liquidated, it was transformed into an LLC. Am I right? Thank you.
