Tax for a non resident

Hi,

I'm hired by a Irish company but lives in Denmark and works in the most of Europe. I will pay tax in Ireland and my question is how much is that for a non resident? I don't spend more than 2 weeks a year in Ireland, MAX.

You will pay take in Ireland on all of your Irish Income i.e. whatever the Irish company are paying you for your services.

Are you an employees, as in is your income subject to PAYE?

I'm not sure of the double taxation treaty with Denmark but I'd imagine you get credit for any tax paid in Ireland against your tax liability in Denmark.

You need professional advice on this one.

Thanks for your reply. I know that I only have to pay tax in Ireland, but what I need to know is - how much? I've been told that Irish tax is depending on the time spend in Ireland. In my case it is 2 weeks max, and I wonder how that works, if you should no anything about that?

I'm not really sure if my income is subject to PAYE, I might get paid and is then to do all tax-things myself.

You can forget about the residency rules for taxation purposes, if you only spend two weeks in the country then you are not going to be an Irish resident of taxation purposes.

Do you carry out any of your work in Denmark?

I'd be highly surprised if you didn't have to file a tax return in Denmark, you mentioned that you are going to look after the tax side yourself. I presume you are self employed...? Then you will be liable to pay tax on Irish source income.

So basically I'm saying you are liable to pay Irish tax on all your earnings from Ireland. So any money that comes from Ireland you pay tax on it in Ireland. Only a rough guide, naturally.

You're getting into a very specialised area of European taxation, tax equalisation could come into play.

You need to get yourself professional advice, it'll save you money in the long run.
 
Thanks for the help, I will get some professional help together with some of the guys I'm working with.

We are pilots working in the most of Europe employed by a Irish company.
