If a room in a house has been rented out for a period of time in 2008 under the rent a room scheme should the tax return form (form 12 I think) be returned by the 31.10.2008 or are these forms that are to be returned to revenue by the 31.10.2008 for the income from 2007?
 
Its 2007 income only that needs to be in by the 31st this month so if you only started renting the room in 2008 then it goes on next years return
