Tax Credits

I was wondering about tax credits, I'm 21 and I worked mainly as a barman but I'm currently out of work, a friend of mine said that I could cash in my tax credits but I'm unsure, does anyone know if this is this true? and if so how do I do it?

What they are probably refering to is claiming a refund from the tax office.

Send a completed Form P50 with your P45 to teh tax office to calim any refund.
