Tax Credits

I am due to go maternity leave in the next few weeks and wanted to know is it possible to transfer my tax credits/tax free allowance to my husband? His salary is double what mine is so would it be more beneficial and if so how to go about it?

The easiest way for your to transfer your tax credits is to register online for the PAYE services at www.revenue.ie. You can also ring the Revenue and they will do this for you. You dont need to have any details other than yourself and your husbands PPS nos. but you may have a wait to get through on the phone. Best of luck.
