hi, does anyone know, if my partner with whom i have lived for almost 5 years is made redundant (unfortunatey this looks likely in the next few months) can his tax credits be transferred to me to boost our household take home pay?
we have up until now always dealt with personal taxes and tax credits seperately.
But i was under the understanding that once you're living together 3years+, we can be considered as common law spouses and therefore have some "married" legal rights.
can anyone advise on this, as i am a civil servant who doesnt earn very much and was also the victim of yesterday's levy also.
many thanks
