Hello,

Is there a way to easily obtain which tax credits are available for the over 65 or more specifically for when you're in retirement. I presume that the PAYE tax credit is no longer relevant but does another type of tax credit replace this? What are the other tax implications for when you retire. Example: I understand PRSI is no longer payable.

Thanks Starting Out

The PAYE tax credit will still apply if you have a work pension or Irish contributory pension.
There is an age tax credit from the year in which you turn 65, doubled if you are married, even if your partner is under 65.
There is an exemption from income tax if your gross income is below €18,000 (single) or €36,000 (married).
You may or may not pay USC depending on the type of income you have, and the level.
