Hi guys,
Looking for a little advice.
My wife is currently on sick leave and her employer has ceased paying her basic salary as per her contract. She finished working in mid March, was paid basic salary till start of June and is now being paid nil. She recieves an illnes benifit (€204.60) from the state and is sched to return to work in October.
My question is, should I take her tax credits from now until October?
My salary: €38500 reduced from €42000 due to pay reduction in May.
Wife salary: €38000 earned last year on P60.
Will she be taxed at a higher rate upon her return to work?
Thank you in advance for all your help.
