Tax credit for health insurance??

I am under BUPA health insurance and I pay the premium monthly myself but someone told me that I might qualify for a tax credit or relief. Can anyone tell me if this is true please??

If you pay it yourself, the rate you pay is net of tax @ 20%
The tax credit only comes into it for people whos employer pays it

If you are paying the premiums yourself then you should be getting [broken link removed]. If your employer pays some or all of the premium on you behalf as a BIK then you are liable for income tax/PRSI via payroll on the benefit but you can [broken link removed] as well.
