tax clearance

i have just registered with revenue for income tax,they have sent me a letter to say they have done this,at the end of the letter in big bold print they have written,"PLEASE NOTE THAT TAX CLEARANCE WILL ISSUE SHORTLY".does anyone know what they mean exactly,does this mean they only start checking me out now?

means you dont have tax problems that they are aware of

Also means you are free to do business worth more than 5k (I think) per annum. Most of them will ask for a copy of your tax clearance cert.

Businesses unconnected with government contracts, i.e. ordinary private businesses have no interest whatsoever in your tax status. Only public body contracts or Relevant Contracts Tax areas ( construction etc.) have any interest or involvement in tax clearance.
