Hello, how much would it cost to get advice on the application of a tax exemption where there is an out of court settlement arising from a claim under the Employment Equality Acts.
If you have engaged an employment law legal specialist I would have thought they would have been able to advise. In general however, it may depend under what legislation and what reason the settlement was made. For example, unpaid holiday leave or a reimbursement of pay is going to be fully taxable since it relates to your employment.
