hi,

i'm getting quotes for tarmacadam drive approximately 600-650sqm including about 170 kerbs to include a small amount of ite clearance and all necc works.
does anyone have any idea on quality and prices to expect.should i get quotes for asphalt or what's the difference?

Hi Frankie,

With regard to your query on difference between tarmacadam and asphalt a read of www.pavingexpert.com might help. It is a very good/informative site and well worth spending time reading thru it especially when you are getting a job of this nature done.

This previous AAM thread on Tarmacadam might be worth a read.

I'm not a tarmacadam fan myself. Having put down cobblelock ourselves I find it high maintenance. If I had my way over I think I would opt for concrete but then hindsight is a marvellous thing. We have also had this previous thread on Imprint paving.

Best of luck with the job.

thanks sueellen,

the paving site is excellent and helped a lot. we have some block paving that we laid ourselves but find it quite high maintenence too. hoping that tarmac will reduce maintenence as the whole site is about 0.6 acre and involves a lot to do in the garden too.

regards
