Tara Hill?

Anybody know anything about the Tara Hill area?
I know the houses are quite the strangest I've seen, but what's the general area like if you were to consider a house amongst the Cottages at St Patricks?
My family were quite against the idea, as they said tara Hill had a bad rep, but not knowing the area, I wasn't sure!
 
From Rathfarnham - they did have a bad rep when I was growing up there but not sure what they are like now. As you say the alot of roofs are corrugated iron :(
