I have the opportunity to do a house-sit here for 9days free accomodation in exchange for looking after house). First time in US, so was hoping to travel for a further week within neighbouring states- Any suggestions of exciting places to see/do when there?? Thanks.

Disney, kennedy space center, just up the road, you could do them on a day trip. Busch gardens in your back yard. everglades. i am jealous of you

For when you're there - Clearwater beach between Tampa and St. Pete's is brilliant and Tampa has a little planned entertainment district called Ibor (pronouced e-bor but unsure of the actual spelling) that is quite good - good bars, resturaunts, etc.

You can fly to some good places from Tampa airport on Southwest (www.southwest.com) if you want to go a bit further in your next week however not sure what kind of time you are looking for. If it we're me - I would go down to Miami for the craic.

I just got back from Tampa on Friday and it is already very hot there.
