For the musicians amongst you. Has anyone ever carried a keyboard (5 or 7 octave) on an Aer Lingus flight in the hold, and how much have you paid? Also also tips on how to box it to safely transport would really be appreciated. I was thinking of polystyrene foam chips but there may be something better?

That's good to know, we'll also have guitars and fiddles with us so if they accept those as one piece of hand luggage we can take them on board with us - yay!
We may try the keyboard as hand luggage, but it may be too big and will have to be checked in - with a price and any excess baggage charges. Will ask anyway. Just trying to avoid any damage to it.
Thanks.
