Switching mobile phone providers & account types ... and switching back again?

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but ...

Is it possible to change from Meteor BillPay to O2 PrePay...keeping the same number ... and then at a later date switch back to Meteor BillPay, as a new customer but still keeping the same number again?

Also, is there a charge for switching from Meteor BillPay to Meteor PrePay mid contract?
