Just had a survey done on a property which turned up an issue with the upper floor, which is an attic conversion from a single-story to a two-story. Turns out the upper floor wasn't strengthened, and that the first floor can be used as bedrooms only if there's nothing of any substantial weight in the rooms. It should be fine otherwise, although it might cause issues obviously if selling on again.
The seller never mentioned the conversion in the ads in the first place (it had to be enquired about). Are there building regs it should conform to? And in any case, is this enough of an issue to warrant either i) a revision of the price agreed or ii) pulling out from the sale?
