Super-Valu - "Supporting Irish Growers"

Has anyone looked at the fruit & vegetable section in their local 'Super-Valu'. In mine, the shelves are lined with a slogan "Super-Valu - Supporting Irish Growers", but almost none of the produce is Irish. Maybe the salad, but that's it. They've labelled a selction of Apples as 'Irish' when they're clearly from Chile. How do they justify this?
 
Have you spoken to the manager in your particular branch to see what they have to say about it?
 
Dunnes stores are just as bad imho. They mark Irish purchases on your receipt. Things like McVities buiscuits, which are clearly made in Holland as stated on the boxes. Another example, pledge dusters made in the UK but says Irish on your receipt.

Surely misleading ppl into thinking they are buying irish.
 
Do the signs say 'Produced in Ireland' - or 'Grown in Ireland'?

'Produced in Ireland' could mean anything. They could have just repackaged the fruit in Ireland. Lots of products are 'Produced in Ireland'. (Even better, grow your own apples. They taste much nicer)
 
The sign, which repeats along the whole length of all the shelves says "Supporting Irish Growers". I suppose it means that they cheer at their football matches.
