Sun holiday Sales at xmas time

Anyone got any experience of booking a sun summer holiday in the sales in january? Are all holidays reduced or is it only certain resorts etc -and how much can you save by waiting till about then?

I'm wondering 'cos I'm looking at booking a 2 weeker in Cyprus for next October around the Ireland game. It's costing about €550 pp if i book now and as i've never booked a sun holiday before except as a last minute deal, I was wondering is there savings to be made.....

I dont think you are going to save much money on a trip to Cyprus from Ireland for that time in October as hundreds of footy fans will already have thought of it and already booked. Also the likes of Ray Treacy etc will have booked up any remaining seats and will sell them on at ridiculously higher prices. €550 pp doesn't seem to bad considering
