Sun holiday for a special occasion??

Hi All;
Could anyone recommend location/resort that would meet the following....

- Seaview
- relatively close to restaurants etc
- self catering (not a hotel)
- Budget (max 1k per person)
- 4 hour flight and not Tunisia


This is for a special occasion so any suggestions would be great

If you don't mind me asking, what's the age profile of the individuals?
 
Apologies, age is 35, so no mad night life, but not a retirement home either

Have you thought about Madeira? 3.5 hour direct flight, good weather all year round, no lager louts and decent scenery etc. Santorini's lovely too. Further away and can be expensive though.

I'd recommend Madeira so. €300 return for the flight, plenty of self catering stuff available in Funchal (and beyond). Loads of really nice restaurants and food, drink etc are good value relative to Ireland.
 
Santorini. I'd recommend staying at Hotel Sunny Villas, look it up in
tripadvisor. I think you can still fly direct from Dublin. Ticks all the boxes.

I would put Dubrovnik into the mix also, fantastic place. Concorde travel
can help you out here. Stayed in hotel Lapad and found it excellent, option
to go self-catering.
 
how many people ? depending on the number of adults travelling villa rental can work out very reasonable - own private pool, high end properties are affordable etc ....
 
Malta...lovely. Morocco too, Agadir is nice, but with all the trouble in the ME, maybe not. Crete, Cyprus (bit pricey imo tho), Southern Italy, culture food etc.
