Re: sun beds

Fake tan is now passe! And sun beds are really bad for you- so bad I really can't believe that people still use them!

Go for the natural look- so now! Of course a new look may mean a new hairstyle, new wardrobe...

Re: sun beds

Hello Mrs. Inspector, I understand your prediciment but would urge you not to use sunbeds. they are totally addictive and as you know, very bad for you. I was an avid user and finally copped myself on. What I would suggest is that you keep with the fake tan, yes it is hard at first, but like all things gets easier with practice. If you can, buy tanning wipes, and use the one wipe for your whole body, that way you wont be too orange. Once you get the hang of it, you can use two the next time, but never more than two or you will end up like a tangerine. Keep with it, they are easy once you know them.

Re: sun beds

why thank you for your replys i'm a bit concerned about tan wipes-- how long does the color last? how does it stand up to a jacquzzi? will be useing one on the hols( not bragging now ) but would hate to leave colour behind in tub, god how embarasing..... not to mention my lovely irish complexion.... pale blotchy skin,, a few thread veins... perhaps a bit of the old celulite... all of which i think are disguised with a NICE TAN , what about spray tans? how long do they last? Are sun beds really that bad or are they ok in moderation and used according to instruction? thanks mrs inspector

Re: sun beds

Don't gamble on using a spray tan booth. They have very dubious results and it won't wear off until you get back from your holiday..unless you like stripes !

Re: sun beds

Hi,

I use StTropez fake tan and swear by it!
Its really inmportant to exfoliate a few times before using it, and cover yourself in moisturising lotion for a few days, so that your skin has no hard patches. Then with rubber gloves apply the tan everywhere. Its brown so you can see where its going on.
It gives you a lovely pale golden colour and lasts about 5 days.
The downside is that its very messy and brown, and if you dont shower it off before you go to bed (you need to leave it on 4 hours) it will mark your sheets (but it washes out).

I've had a spray StTropez in a salon too, and went mahogany!! Nearly too dark, but I was delighted with the result - very even and golden, not orange atall.

Dont use sunbeds - look at pictures of older people who look sun-damaged, and think that you dont want to deliberately do that too yourself!

Re: sun beds

I have found that the easiest fake tan to apply is Fake Bake (buy it up the north as it is way too expensive in the south). However, as with St. Tropez is very mucky, however I think that is why it is easy to apply because you can see clearly where you have put it. It does wash out of sheets and towels although your bed can look like a murder scene when you wake up in the morning. I prefer it to St Tropez which I find a little dark.
If you are getting a spray tan done, I like Special FX (I think it is called), again it is not too dark but lasts for ages.
As ragazza says, the most important thing to do is exfoliate before and moisturise daily after application to keep it going.

Re: sun beds

i am just back from a week in the sun and i got my first ever full body spray tan and it was great it lasted the whole week. It did how ever leave mark on sheets the first evening but has washed out. It felt great going on holidays not white and you could top up with the wipes
