Summons delivery

hi have recieved a summons for motor offernce.it was not sent by registered mail and not delivered by hand to a spouse or relative...just shoved through the letter box on a sunday evening not even an attempt to ring a bell or knock at the door as i was in...is this a legal delivery as how can the garda prove i recieved it...

Bit of a catch 22. If you ignore it on the basis that they can't prove you got it then it'll take it's place on the list and you'll get a more severe penalty for not turning up.

If you ring up to complain about delivery or turn up in court- well you obviously did receive it. They'll perfect it in court.

That's what the circuit court is for. You simply appeal on the basis you were not served correctly.
