Sub €200k houses in Dublin?

I was driving through Portlaoise today and I saw a sign for a development of two and three bedroom apartments and houses with a starting prices of €179k. I haven't noticed anything this cheap in a good while. I haven't been looking, so maybe I am a bit out of the loop.

I went to have a look at a development in Swords (the Meadows) at the weekend which had the prices reduced by upto €100k. I was very disappointed.

How long will it be before we see a development in Dublin with prices starting at less than €200k?

Portlaoise is not Dublin, and general demand would presumably be lower leading to lower prices than Dublin for comparable properties?

Sorry about that.

The houses in the Meadows were very small, and the finish was incredibly poor. They used lino in the apartment bathrooms, and it wasn't even cut straight. When I went into the duplex I had a look under the stairs, and it had the price list from September 2006, and the development had a different name!
 
Not really sure what the point of this thread is. Not many sub €200K houses in Dublin and some new houses are arguably poorly finished. So what? :confused:
 
I didn't realise that I wasn't allowed to discuss house prices, so now it is sort of a pointless thread!

You can delete it if you want.
