Students and BUPA

Have just got my renewal quote from BUPA 2 adults and 1 student .Now here is the catch Bupa say quote( if your child has turned 18 and is still in full time education they are entitled to student rate.) ,but on phoneing them they inform me that this only applies up 21 and my son is now over 21 but is still in full time education as is the case with most students,they are usually not finished until they are 23 or 24 years of age.How can BUPA justify this surely they are either students or they not students .Has any one else come across this situation.

Well, I've been looking at the Student issue with health insurance companies, as my wife has left work to become a full time student at the age of 29.

Needless to say, none of the insurance companies will insure her as a student.

But it might be helpful to you that VIVAS will insure students up to the age of 23, and the difference between an adult quote and student quote is quite substantial. Both VHI and BUPA have the cutoff point at 21.
