Student visa card

has anyone any advice on acquiring a credit card for a Pharmacy student. My bank of 30 years The good old Bank of Ireland has turned down our son for a credit. We have been customers of the bank for almost 30 years but a combined annual salary of €150,000 paid directly to the Bank is not deemed sufficient by this Bank for acting as guarantor of €500 that a student is allowed. On questioning their decision we were told that we are quite free to move Bank if this decision is a problem. Needless to say we are. Is there any Institution out there that will facilitate this request. He is studying in England. We intended to keep his Credit Card account in credit to facilitate the withdrawal of Sterling but without the added transaction charges that account transfers incur. Does anyone have experience of doing something like this

What about getting an extra credit card on your account for your son .. that should be possible without problems I think.

We operate totally on credit card with a huge limit. He is trustworthy but it could get out of hand. Also it would be totally impossible to keep this account in credit which would lead to massive charges on cash advances. Does anyone know anything about e-pay?
