Student Loan

I am in a bit of bother. The head gasket on my car blew and to get is fixed would cost more then the car is worth. So i need to but a new car. I have a part time job but dont work every week, thus i dont get paid regularly. About €700 a month is what I earn although this is not guaranteed. Out of this i have to pay rent and car insurance and day to day expenses.

Over the summer I work quite a bit. I will earn up to €8000 over the summer.

I want to know if i will be able to take out a student loan of €5000 to buy a new car, and pay it back over the summers i work rather then over the college semester?

I have not been saving regularly with the credit union for a while now. All my wages and payments go hrough my BOI student acount
 
I wouldnt worry about not saving regularly with the C.U from what I have experienced although i know each are different they dont require you to have saved regularly go in explain the situation im sure they will find a way to help.
